How to Disable Adobe Reader in a Mac

Disable Adobe Reader on your Mac.

Adobe Reader is an application that allows you to view PDFs on your Mac. If you do not like the application and would rather use your Mac's Preview application, which does the same thing, you can easily disable Adobe Reader. The process takes a few moments and a few clicks of your mouse.

Instructions

1. Find a PDF on your system. Highlight it.

2. Press the "Command" key and the "i" key on your keyboard at the same time. This will open the file information window.

3. Click the "Open with" drop-down menu. Scroll down and select "Preview" or any other PDF reader other than "Adobe Reader."

4. Click the "Change All" button. Click the "Continue" button. This will disable Adobe Reader on your Mac.
