How to Make Windows Live My Homepage

Set your favorite site as your homepage.

If you frequently use Windows Live products, such as Hotmail or Windows Live Messenger, you may be interested in setting Windows Live as your Internet browser's homepage. Doing so will provide you quick and immediate access to all your favorite Windows Live products.

How to Make Windows Live Your Homepage in Internet Explorer 7 or 8

1. Open the Internet Explorer browser on your computer. Navigate to www.live.com.

2. Click on the small down-pointing arrow to the right of the "Home" icon. Select "Add or Change Home Page...". The "Add or Change Home Page" dialog box will appear.

3. Choose one of the available options: "Use this webpage as your only home page" (to make Windows Live your only home page) or "Add this webpage to your home page tabs" (to add Windows Live to your collection of home page tabs).

4. Click "Yes" on the bottom right of the dialog box to save your choice.

How to Make Windows Live Your Homepage in Firefox

1. Open the Mozilla Firefox browser. Navigate to www.live.com.

2. Click on the icon beside the website address to the far left of the address bar (the Microsoft Windows logo). Hold and drag the icon to the "Home" icon, which is located to the left of the address bar. The "Set Home Page" dialog box will appear.

3. Click "Yes" to save and finish.
