How to Access an AT&T Voicemail Message

Caller ID may tell you the phone numbers of those who have called you, but without voice mail those callers could not leave you a message. Text messaging is very popular, but an informative voice mail message still has its place. AT&T provides voice mail features for both its wireless and home phone services. Accessing an AT&T voice mail message is as simple as calling the voice mail system and browsing the messages.

Tips & Warnings

  • To access either your AT&T Wireless voice mail or your AT&T home phone voice mail from an outside phone number, dial the number to your phone line. Press the "9" key when the outgoing message starts to play. Enter your PIN and press the "Pound" key to begin accessing your messages.

  • If you have service that limits the amount of minutes you can talk each month, you may incur charges for accessing your voice mail box from your phone number. In other words, the time you spend connected to the voice mail system counts against your monthly airtime allotment.
