How to Format a Hyperlink in Word 2007
In Word 2007, readers can control-click a hyperlinked URL or word, causing the linked Web page to open automatically. By eliminating the need to copy the URL, open a Web browser, paste the URL and load the page, this method conserves your readers' time and minimizes hassle.
Instructions
-
Hyperlink a URL Automatically
-
1
Type the full URL or Web address, including the first part, such as "www." or "http://". For greater accuracy, copy the URL from your Web browser and paste it directly into the Word document.
-
2
Press "Space" or "Enter," or add a mark of punctuation, and continue typing. Word will automatically turn the URL into a hyperlink.
-
-
3
Edit the appearance of the hyperlinked URL, if desired. For example, you can now remove the "www." at the beginning of the Web address, delete the ".com" on the end of the URL or change the capitalization of the website name. Word will still direct the link toward the originally hyperlinked URL.
