A .cn domain name represents a website that is based in China. If you run a business or nonprofit that is in China, you should purchase a .cn domain. You can buy one from almost any registrar, regardless of where you live. It's an easy process that can be completed within 10 minutes.

Instructions

    • 1

Find a registrar that deals in .cn domain names (see References). This will allow you to find and register a domain. Only registrars that are licensed to deal in .cn names will be able to help you.

    • 2

Type the name of the domain name you want and click "Search." The search engine will check its database for availability and will let you know if that domain name is already used. If it is not, you can purchase it. If so, you will need to do a search for another domain name.

Pay for the domain name. As of 2010, .cn domains cost between $24.95 to $35 to register. You can pay with a credit card or via Paypal in some cases. You will also need to provide contact details for your administrative and technical person.
