Pick out the colors you like for you Vans.

Vans are comfortable shoes that are both classic and trendy. Vans shoes come in many different styles and colors. If you can't find a design you like, customize a pair of Vans to suit your unique style. It's not difficult to customize Vans with neon colors and a whole lot more, from the comfort of your own computer.

        Visit the Vans website online. Select the "Shop" tab from the top of the screen.

        Click on "Custom Shoes" underneath Shop By.

        Choose the style of shoe that you want. For custom shoes, you can select from Era, Slip-On and Old Skool.

        Select whether you need men's, women's, boy's, girl's or toddler's shoes.

        Select the size of shoe you need, then click "Next."

        Select what color of shoes you want to start with: white, black or patterned. Keep in mind that you will be able to change every color/pattern aspect of the shoe, so it doesn't matter too much what color/pattern you start with. To start from scratch, begin with a plain white shoe.

        Click on "Vamp" from the Choose Your Colors Menu on the right side of the screen to choose the color of the vamp (the top of the front of the shoe) first. There are 48 different colors and patterns--including neon colors--to choose from. Hold your cursor over each color to see what the vamp will look like. When you've found the color that you like, simply click on that color to change the vamp.

        Click on "Quarter" from the Choose Your Colors Menu to choose the color of the quarter next, which is the top middle portion of the shoe. Again, you will have dozens of colors and pattens to choose from. Drag your cursor over each color to see the which one you like the most. When you've found the perfect color for the quarter, click on that color to change the color of the quarter.

        Select "Heel Counter" from the Choose Your Colors Menu. The heel counter is the fabric on the heel of the shoe. Choose from the dozens of colors from the menu by dragging your cursor available colors. Click on the color that you like best to change the heel counter color.

        Select "Tongue" from the Choose Your Colors Menu next. Drag your cursor over the different colors to view the different options. Select the color for the tongue by clicking on the color of your choice.

        Select "Tongue Binding" from the Choose Your Colors Menu. For the tongue binding, you have 20 solid available colors to choose from. Select the color you like best by clicking on it.

        Click on "Foxing" from the Choose Your Colors Menu. The foxing is the thick sole of the shoe. Your choices for the foxing are white or black. You can drag your cursor over the two colors to see which one you prefer. Click on one of the two colors to choose your foxing color.

        Click on "Foxing Stripe" from the Choose Your Colors Menu to add a color to the thin stripe that runs around the foxing. For the foxing stripe, you can choose from 20 different solid colors. Drag your cursor over the 20 different colors to see which one you like best. Click to select the color you like best for the foxing stripe.

        Click on "Laces" from the Choose Your Colors Menu to select whether you'd like white or black lacing. Drag your cursor over the two colors to see which one you prefer. Click on the color you like best for your laces. Then, click on "Eyelets" from the Choose Your Colors Menu. Again, you only have the choice of black or white. Drag your cursor over the two colors to see which one you like for you custom shoes. Click on one of the colors to choose for your eyelets.

        Click on "Collar Lining," the area around the mouth of the shoe, to choose whether you like a white or black lining better. Drag your cursor over the two colors to determine which looks best. Click on one of the two colors to change the lining.

        Click "Add to Cart" to fill out your personal information and credit card info to have your own custom shoes delivered right to your door.

    Tips & Warnings

    • Because you can choose the color for each separate part of the shoe, you can make your shoe a rainbow of different neon colors and patterns.
