Click the headings at the top of the music library if you'd like to sort by something other than artist and album name or you'd like things to be in reverse order. For example, click the "Album" option and the order will be flipped, so albums and artists will be in reverse alphabetical order, from Z to A. Click it again to make it normal alphabetical order, from A to Z. Click the "Title" option if you'd like organize the music files alphabetically by title. Clicking it again will put it in reverse alphabetical order. You also can organize by the length of the music piece, from the shortest to the longest or the longest to the shortest.

Right-click on the music file you would like to move. A list of options will appear. Click the "Advanced Tag Editor" choice. Here you can change anything you like, which will effectively move the music in Windows Media Player. You can change the artist name, album title, track order, genre, mood and more. Click the tabs at the top of the menu for further options. Once you've made all the changes you would like to make with that song, click "Apply" at the bottom and then "OK" to close out of the "Advanced Tag Editor." The music file will now be moved in Windows Media Player. Repeat this process for any piece of music you would like to move in Windows Media Player.

Make a playlist of music, which is another way to move and group files together. Click the "File" menu and select "Create Playlist." A new playlist will appear on the right side of your library. Give it a name. Highlight the music you'd like to put in the playlist, and drag the music over to the playlist on the right side of Windows Media Player and drop it by letting go of the mouse button when the cursor is in the playlist. To rearrange music in the playlist, click on the song or songs, drag and drop them into the order you want.
