How to Un-Retire on Fate
"Fate" is a role-playing game developed and distributed by WildTangent for the personal computer. The game lets players create their own characters and journey through the dungeon gate in order to fulfill their destiny. In this game, once the main quest is completed, the player has the option to "retire" their protagonist and begin playing again with a descendant of that protagonist. If you wish to bring your protagonist out of retirement, you will need to download a third party program that will allow you to do so.

Download the "un-retire" tool available in the references section. After you have downloaded the file, double-click the program's icon to activate the program.

Select the "..." icon on the programs window to bring up a file selection window. Select the file representing the save game of your character (this file will end in ".ffd"). The character's name and descendant value will be displayed in the blank text bar on the window.

Modify the descendant value to suit your needs. If your character is retired, his value will be -1. Change this value to a 0 to un-retire the character.

Check the "Create backup" box, in case something goes wrong, then click the "Do It!" button to save the changes to your character.
