      Launch the Windows Media Player and click on the "Burn" tab on the toolbar. Click the arrow below the "Burn" tab and choose the type of CD (Audio or Data) you want to burn to open the "List" pane.

      Insert a blank CD-R into the Dell computer's disk tray. Click on the "List" pane and click on the "Clear List" button that looks like a red "X." To add files from your library to the CD, drag the files from the library into the "List" pane. To add files from the hard drive, navigate to the file's location on the hard drive and right-click on the file. Click "Add to Burn List" to send the file to the Windows Media Player interface.

      Click on the "Start Burn" button at the bottom of the "List" pane to start the burn process. Once the burn is completed, the CD will be ejected from the disk drive.
