How to Load Paper in an HP 1240 Fax

Released by Hewlett-Packard in 2004, the HP-1240 fax is an inkjet fax machine with a memory of 8 megabytes. It transmits documents at an average rate of three seconds per page and can send up to 20 pages or receive up to 100 pages at once, according to HP. Before using the HP 1240 fax, ensure that the machine has enough paper, so your important document won't be unnecessarily delayed while you head off to the storage room for more.

Instructions

    • 1

Unfold the machine's three paper trays.

    • 2

Insert the tabs of the front panel overlay into the slots located on the fax's top side. Firmly press the front panel overlay down until it snaps into place.

    • 3

Load up to 100 pages of plain copy paper into the fax. Adjust the paper guide so that it touches the paper but does not bend it.

Tips & Warnings

  • To prevent paper jams, do not insert paper too far into the tray.
