How to Restore Firefox Bookmarks in XP
When you upgrade to a new version of Firefox, your bookmarks may not follow you. Getting those bookmarks back saves time and increases efficiency and productivity in the workplace. Windows XP users can restore their Firefox bookmarks by navigating to the most recent saved bookmarks file and reloading the data into Firefox. This sounds intimidating but is easy to do, even if you aren't an XP expert. Restoring bookmarks takes minutes and saves tons of research time.

Click on the "Start" button at the bottom left of the desktop screen, then select "Run."

Type the following command: "C:\Documents and Settings\Name" where "Name" is your Windows user name. You should know this because you created it.

Select "Tools" from the folder options and click on "View" and then on "Show Hidden Files."

Double click on the "Application" folder and navigate to "Mozilla" and then "Firefox." Click on "Profiles" and search for the folder that contains a string of random numbers and letters. Double click the file folder with the random numbers and letters.

Look for the "bookmarkbackups" file and open it. View an assortment of bookmark backups organized by date.

Select the most recent date (unless you want an older date) and press "Command + C" to copy the file; then paste it on the desktop ("Command + V").

Open up Firefox from the "Start" menu. Click on the "Bookmarks" tab and then on "Organize Bookmarks."

Select the "Import & Restore" option from the menu; then click "Import HTML."

Choose the file from the backups folder that you saved to your desktop when asked to choose an HTML backup. This will restore the bookmarks to Firefox.
