Getting too many emails from a certain person, whether a deranged ex or an annoying acquaintance, can really add up in an inbox. Luckily blocking email messages is an option and can easily be done with a few clicks of the mouse. It doesn't matter what email provider is used; everyone has the ability to block unwanted emails from ever making it into the inbox again.

Instructions

      Click the "Create a filter" link to the right of the search box in Gmail. In the "From" text field, enter the email address of the person whose messages will be blocked. Click "Next Step." Check off the boxes labeled "Mark as read" and "Delete it." Then click "Create Filter."

      Click "Mail Options" at the top right corner of the Yahoo! Mail main page. Click "Block Addresses." Type the email address that is to be blocked in the text field labeled "Enter email address (or domain) to block." Click "Block Address."

      Click "Options" on the top right of the Hotmail or Windows Live Mail Web page. Select "More options" from the drop down menu. Under "Junk e-mail," click "Safe and blocked senders." Click the "Blocked senders" link. Enter the email address of the person to be blocked in the "Blocked e-mail address or domain" text field. Click the "Add to list" button.
