Singer 9410 Sewing Machine Instructions

Singer 9410 Sewing Machine Instructions thumbnail
The Singer 9410 can do standard and specialty stitches.

The Singer 9410 is an automatic sewing machine with a turn dial to program many different specialty sewing pattern stitches. Each specialty stitch can be altered by changing the width or length of each stitch. The easy four-step automatic buttonhole stitch can create a buttonhole in one step, without moving the fabric or changing the needle's position. To operate the machine, power it up, insert a properly wound bobbin, and choose the desired stitch.

Instructions

  1. Powering the Machine

    • 1

Plug the foot control into the right bottom of the machine.

    • 2

Connect the power cord from the machine into an electrical outlet.

    • 3

Press the switch from "O" (off) to "1" (on). The machine is turned on and ready to sew.

    Winding the Bobbin

    • 4

Place a spool of thread on the spindle. Attach the spool cap to hold the spool in place.

    • 5

Take the end of the thread spool and snap the thread into the guide to hold it in place.

    • 6

Wind the thread through the winder tension disc in a clockwise pattern to ensure proper tension as it winds up the bobbin.

    • 7

Pull the end of the thread through a hole on the rim of the bobbin. Keep holding onto the end of the thread as it begins to wind up.

    • 8

Push down on the foot controller to begin winding up the bobbin. Fill up the bobbin until it almost reaches the rim edge; do not overfill the bobbin. Stop the machine. Slide the bobbin to the left to loosen it from the bobbin spindle and trim thread.

    Selecting a Sewing Pattern

    • 9

Identify which number your selected pattern is on the pattern sewing dial.

    • 10

Turn the dial to the number, aligning the stitch number or style with the arrow or dot directly above the dial.

    • 11

Adjust the width and length of the specialty stitch. If a thicker or thinner stitch is needed, turn the stitch width dial. If a longer or shorter stitch is needed, turn the stitch length dial.
