How to Install HP 930C Printer Driver

To configure any printer with a computer, you must have the correct driver installed. All HP printers come with installation software, which includes the necessary printer drivers. If you no longer have the installation disk, you may be able to connect the HP printer to the computer and the system will locate and install the appropriate driver. The last alternative is to download the correct driver online.

Instructions

Install Driver from a CD

1. Insert the installation CD that came with the HP printer. Wait for the installer to begin. If the installer doesn't begin, click on "My Computer" from the start menu and double-click on the CD drive to begin installation.

2. Connect the HP USB printer cable to the computer when prompted. Make sure the power cable is also plugged in and power on the printer.

3. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation of the driver.

Download and Install Driver

1. Connect the printer to the computer and power on both.

2. Go to hp.com and select the "Support & Drivers" section on the home page.

3. Select "Downloading Drivers & Software" and enter the model name and number in the "For Product" field of your HP printer (for example, Deskjet D1660). Hit "Go."

4. Choose the operating system of the computer that will be operating with the printer (for example, Windows Vista (64 bit)). Press "Next."

5. Expand the "Driver" option in the results section. Once expanded, all available drivers matching the query will be listed. You may have the option to just install the drivers or to install the drivers plus software. Click the "Download" button next to the driver package you want.

6. Click "Yes" when prompted by the alert window asking you for permission to download the product. Then follow the installation prompts, which include acceptance of the installation agreement.
