How to Crop & Resize Photos
Digital photography allows you to retouch your pictures even after you've taken them. Sometimes the simplest of corrections can make the biggest difference. Cropping a picture to take out some unwanted elements can transform a mediocre image to a piece worth framing. Once you've cropped your image, though, it won't be the same size as when you started, so you'll need to resize it to complete the job.

1
Open Microsoft Paint by clicking on "Start," then on "All Programs," then "Accessories" and then "Paint." Open the picture that you wish to crop. Ensure that the select tool is active and then drag to select the area that you wish to keep in the image. Right-click and select "Crop."

2
Resize the image by pressing "Ctrl+W" on your keyboard to open the resizing tool. Then choose a percentage by which you wish to enlarge or reduce your image. Make sure that both the stretch and skew percentages are the same so that your picture's aspect ratio will stay the same.

Save your file by pressing "Ctrl+S." If you wish to keep the original image unchanged from the image that you cropped, be sure to change the name on your new file by pressing "Alt+F" on your keyboard and then pressing "A." When the "File Menu" appears, change the name of the file and then press "OK."
