You can use Paste Options to preserve the format of copied text.

By default, Microsoft Word 2007 preserves the formatting of copied text in other Word documents. If Word does not preserve your formatting after text is pasted, you can change your settings. Doing so will keep you from having to reformat the entire text manually. You can use Paste Options to specify how your text looks. A Paste Options icon will appear by the pasted text after it is pasted, allowing you to pick your formatting.

      Select the "Customize Quick Access Toolbar" and choose "More Commands."

      Click the "Advanced" tab in the "Word Options" window and go the "Cut, Copy, and Paste" section.

      Checkmark "Show Paste Options button." Then click "OK."

      Select "Tools" and "Options" from the toolbar.

      Go to the "Edit" tab in the "Options" dialog box.

      Checkmark "Show Paste Options buttons" and click "OK."

    Copy and Paste Formatted Text

      Select the formatted text you want to copy. Then navigate to the document or area of your page where the formatted text will go.

      Right-click and choose "Paste" from the pop-up list, or press "Ctrl+V."

      Expand the "Paste Options" icon below the pasted text and choose "Keep Source Formatting."
