The Apple iBook is an older Mac laptop computer, predating the PowerMac and MacBook. The device does not come with a built in wireless adapter but it is possible to connect and install a wireless adapter to connect to an Actiontec DSL wireless network. You can roam without the wires of DSL Internet connections.

      Plug the Mac wireless adapter into one of the USB ports on the iBook. The wireless adapter must be Mac supported, otherwise it is unable to connect to the Mac's operating system. This information is available on the packaging of the wireless adapter.

      Insert the driver installation CD into the disc drive of the computer. The driver installation wizard for the wireless adapter appears on the screen.

      Click "Next" and accept the license agreement. Choose "Mac HD" as the installation location. Select "Install." Wait for the installation to finish. Restart the computer.

      Double-click the wireless icon that now appears in the upper right corner of the desktop. Select the Actiontec DSL Wi-Fi network you want to connect to and the iBook connects to the wireless network.
