How to Make a Real Paper Gun That Shoots Air Soft BBs

A real BB gun fires a BB with enough force to impact metal. You can make a powerful paper gun that will shoot airsoft-brand BB pellets with great force. You do not need mechanical expertise to make the BB gun, as you only need a few household supplies and a party popper from a party store. Expect the BBs being shot to hit objects with great force, so adult supervision is necessary for underage individuals.

Things You'll Need

• Newspaper
• 8-by-10 inch computer printing paper
• Cellophane tape
• Party popper
• Utility knife
• Ruler
• 1/4-inch-diameter Airsoft BBs
• Hot glue gun
• Glue stick
• 1/2-inch-diameter metal washer

Instructions

1. Place a sheet of newspaper on a table to protect the surface. Place a sheet of computer printing paper on the newspaper with the end facing you. Roll the left side of the computer printing paper over to the right side to form a tube.

2. Measure the diameter of the hole at one end with the ruler. Continue rolling the computer printing paper into a tighter tube until the diameter is around a 1/2 inch on both ends. Tape the sides of the paper tube with strips of cellophane tape.

3. Apply hot glue around an end of the paper tube. Place a metal washer onto the end of the paper tube. Hold the metal washer in place for a minute. Let the hot glue set for 10 minutes.

4. Insert the tip of a utility knife into the cardboard bottom of the party popper. Lift up on the tip of the utility knife to remove the cardboard bottom. Empty out the contents from inside of the party popper into the trash.

5. Apply hot glue glue around the hole of the metal washer. Insert the end of the paper tube that has the metal washer attached to it inside of the party popper. Push the paper tube fully into the party popper. Let the hot glue set for 10 minutes.

6. Wedge an airsoft-brand BB into the open end of the paper tube. Go outside and aim the real paper gun at a bush or object that isn’t likely to cause the BB to ricochet. Pull the string to fire off the party popper’s explosive charge and propel the airsoft-brand BB at the bush or object.

Tips & Warnings

• Wear protective gloves when using the hot glue gun to protect your hands.

• Never aim any kind of weapon that shoots a projectile at a person or pet.
