If you purchased a computer with the Windows Vista operating system, the trial version of Adobe CS4 could cause you some problems. While there is no known issue with the actual trial of Adobe CS4 on Vista, there is a known issue when upgrading to the full version of CS4. In order to have a properly working installed version of Adobe CS4, you have to completely uninstall the trial version of CS4. A complete uninstall involves the help of an Adobe program.

Open the "Start" menu and select "Control Panel" and then "Programs And Features."

Select the "Uninstall a Program" option and select Adobe CS4 and click on "Uninstall." The program will be uninstalled while you wait.

Download the free Adobe CS4 Clean Script from the Adobe website. This script is needed to remove the parts of CS4 that are left behind when you do the standard uninstall. Double-click on the downloaded file to unzip it.

Right-click on the "CS4InstallerDatabaseUtility.exe" file and select to run it as administrator. If you don't see this option, just double-click on the file to run it. You will see some on-screen prompts for the script, which you need to follow. When you get to the end, click on "Exit" to close the script.

Restart the computer to finish the complete uninstall of the Adobe CS4 trial.
