How to Disable Mozilla Download Manager
The Download Manager feature on your Mozilla Firefox browser is an easy way store all of the files you've downloaded off of the internet. Of course, if you want to clear up space or keep what you've downloaded from the internet private, disabling the Download Manager feature is a good way to ensure that the files you download are no longer kept on file on your Mozilla Firefox browser. With just a few quick adjustments to your internet settings in Firefox, you'll be able disable this feature (as well as turn it on later if you decide you would like to continue using the Download Manger).

1
Open up Mozilla Firefox and then go to go to "Tools" and select "Options." When the Option box opens, select "Privacy."
-
2
Look for the option that says "Ask me before clearing private data." Next to that, select the "Clear Now" button to clear all of the data Firefox saved that is currently stored on your computer. A new box called "Clear Private Data" will pop up asking what information you want to be cleared. Make sure you select "Download History" along with any other data you would like deleted. Press the "Clear Private Data Now" button to delete this data.

Look for the "History" section under the "Privacy" box and find the option that says "Remember what I've downloaded." Make sure the box next to it is unchecked so that your Download Manager no longer keeps records of what you download. Press the "OK" button. If you ever want to have Download Manager keep records of what you download in the future, simply re-check that box and press "OK."
