How to Repair DNS in Windows XP

The domain name server (DNS) information in your Windows XP computer is necessary to enable your Internet website requests to be routed to the correct address. Like everything else in a computer, this information can occasionally become muddled, necessitating remedial action. Accomplish this by flushing the current DNS information to restore it to working order.

Instructions

    • 1

      Click "Start" and click "Run."

    • 2

      Type "cmd" and press "Enter."

    • 3

Type "ipconfig /flushdns" to erase and reset the DNS information, repairing your issue.

    • 4

      Restart the computer.
