How to Install a New MSN
MSN Messenger is one way that people can keep in touch with friends, family and coworkers while on the computer. You can converse with your loved ones via text messaging when you both happen to get on the computer at the same time. Windows Live Messenger is the new MSN Messenger service that allows PC operators to message friends and families.

Go to the Windows Live Messenger website and click on the "Download now" button (see Resources for link). A window will pop-up in your browser and you will be asked to press the "Download now" button again. The messenger program will now start walking you through the installation process.

Watch as another window opens. The window reads, "Do you want to run now or save this file?" Click on the "Run" button.

Click on the "Run" button again when another window pops-up asking if you trust programs from this website.

Choose the programs you want to install. Windows Live Messenger is part of an essential pack that includes Windows Mail, Photo Gallery, Movie Maker, Toolbar, Writer and Family Safety.

Uncheck the items that you do not wish to install, and then click on the "Install" button. Microsoft Windows will complete the messenger installation.

Tips & Warnings
Windows Live Messenger replaced the old MSN Messenger program.
