NTLDR Is Missing After Installing XP
The "NTLDR is missing" error can occur on your XP computer when the computer is attempting to boot from a non-bootable source or when the NTLDR file is present but corrupt. Resolve this issue by copying the target file back to the hard drive using the repair features of your Windows XP operating system CD.

Insert the XP CD into the computer. Restart the computer. Press any key when prompted to boot from the CD.

Press "R" at the first screen and press "1" to select your Windows installation. Enter your system password when prompted.

Type "copy e:\i386\ntldr c:\" and press "Enter." Type "copy e:\i386\ntdetect.com c:\" and press "Enter." In both cases, replace "e" with the letter of the drive containing the Windows XP CD.

Restart your computer to complete the fix.
