How to Download Sony Mini DVD Files

Import video files from a mini DVD.

Some Sony video cameras record directly onto a mini DVD. These mini DVDs save each video as its own file, that is, from the time you hit "Record" to the time you press "Stop" is one video file. This allows for an easier download process onto a computer since no video editor is required to download these files. By simply clicking a few buttons on your computer, you can download your mini DVDs in no time.

Instructions

1. Insert the mini DVD into the DVD drive of your computer. Close out all AutoPlay windows that appear on the screen.

2. Click "Start" and "(My) Computer" and double-click the DVD icon. A window appears with all of the video files currently stored on the Sony mini DVD.

3. Click and drag the files from the open window onto your computer. You may copy these files to any location on the system. A progress bar will appear, stating exactly how much time you have left before the files have finished copying.

4. Push the "Eject" button on the computer's disc drive to eject the mini DVD.
