How to Become a Model for IMVU

Become an IMVU model and experience the life of a virtual world.

The "Instant Messaging Virtual Universe" (IMVU) is a three-dimensional virtual world and social networking website where your imagination can run wild. Personalize your look, meet new people and create your own designs for such items as furniture and fashion to be featured in the IMVU catalog. Your avatar may become an IMVU model and experience an exciting life in the virtual world.

Instructions

1. Register for a free account on IMVU (see the Resources section).

2. Choose your IMVU name, select an avatar and download the IMVU installer.

3. Customize your avatar's look and clothing. You will have a default set of options to choose from. You also can purchase new items for your avatar in the shop with IMVU credits that you accumulate or buy.

4. Create a variety of modeling pictures with various outfits and poses. To purchase more poses or outfits, click on "Dress Up" on the home page and view the selection of icons below your avatar. When you mouse over each icon, it will list the description. Choose "Actions and Animations" for new poses.

5. Select "Shop Now" in the box located below the avatar to purchase new poses. Your avatar will shift to the left side of the screen and you will see a selection of poses.

6. View the selections and click the box of poses that you are interested in. You may "Try" before you commit to buying. If you like the available ones, choose "Buy" and your credits will be deducted according to the price of your selection.

7. Practice your poses and outfits on the "Dress Me" screen.

8. Put together an album of your modeling photos. To take a snapshot, click the camera icon at the bottom of the screen. Then you will see four icons on the mid right, with descriptions of the icons on the left. Select one of the four icons when you are satisfied with your avatar's pose and direction. Another set of icons will appear to upload.

9. Select "Upload" after each photo you take. You will be able to view all of your photos on your IMVU web profile. To view, click your avatar name at the top of the screen and select "Web Profile" under the avatar photo.

10. Scroll to the bottom of your IMVU web profile to "My Gallery." Click on a photo and edit details by providing a title and description about yourself.

11. Create and designate a new album for your modeling photos and include your favorites in that album. The link is located above each photo.

12. Add the link to your IMVU web profile and include it in your modeling photo album, if you choose. The developers can view it as a slide show once they receive the link.

13. Email your information to [e-mail]. Search "IMVU Space" (see the Resource section) for tutorials and other information about modeling for IMVU. Include a description of yourself in the email and be as creative and interesting, as possible.
