iTunes U for iPad lets you watch lectures wherever you want.

Apple is making it easier than ever to learn where you want, when you want, and how you want with iTunes U on the iPad. iTunes U courses are classes made available by universities and organizations on a variety of subjects for free to the public. Some universities limit who has access to courses posted on iTunes U, while other universities make courses open to everyone. iTunes U courses are an easy way for students to find more information about topics they are learning about in class, or to start learning about subjects they will be taking in the future.

Tips & Warnings

  • iTunes U courses can be downloaded from iTunes by selecting "iTunes U" from the bottom of the iTunes screen on your iPad. Search iTunes U to find interesting courses you would like to download.

  • Consider downloading larger courses on a Wi-Fi network. You can download larger courses on a 3G network, but it may take much longer to download the course.

  • Keep an eye on how much hard drive space is being taken up by your iTunes U courses. As a result, you may want to consider removing courses when you are finished viewing them.

  • Not all universities make material available through iTunes U. Some universities make information available, but limit the use of material to students enrolled in that specific university. Other universities make some of their iTunes U courses available for everyone. Nonetheless, all iTunes U material is free.
