How to Put AIM Contacts on Pidgin

Chatting with friends and family online has become increasingly easier to do. Unfortunately, there are many different chat programs available and not everyone wants to use the same one. That leaves us the choice of running several different programs at once or downloading a program such as Pidgin which allows the use of several various chat clients, including AOL Instant Messenger (AIM), and ties them all into one.

Instructions

    • 1

Click on "Accounts" then "Add Edit" in Pidgin.

    • 2

Click the "Add" button in the accounts window.

    • 3

Select "AIM" in the protocol menu and type in your AIM or AOL screen name.

    • 4

Check or uncheck the email notification and password saving boxes and click "Save." All of your AIM contacts will load on to your list automatically.

    • 5

Add more contacts by clicking "Buddies" then "Add Buddy" and inputting that contact's information.
