How to Cut Masonite
Masonite was invented by William Mason in 1924. He added finely shredded wood chips to high temperatures and formed fibers that could be pressed further into different shapes, lengths and widths. Masonite is a hardboard used much the same as you would use wood. Just like wood, you can cut Masonite boards into any shape you want with a saw. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Draw a template on the back side of the Masonite board of the cut you want to make, using the pencil. If you are doing a straight cut, use a ruler so the lines are straight.
-
2
Lay the Masonite on the table saw with the finished side down. Clamp the yardstick on to the lines you drew to use as a cutting guide. Clamp both ends.

-
3
Guide the power saw slowly and carefully over the Masonite. When you have finished making your cut, release the clamps and remove the board from the table saw.
-
4
Wipe the Masonite board with a rag to remove sawdust debris.
