Get an anti-keylogger program. These applications are designed to block the algorithms used by all keyloggers and keep them from recording keystrokes and stealing your data. Among the programs you can consider are Anti Keylogger Elite, Advanced Anti Keylogger, and SpyShelter. As of 2010, these programs were priced from $39.95 to $49.95.

Download a keyboard scrambler. These programs work by encrypting keystrokes, rendering the transcripts of the keylogger unreadable. If you are using Firefox as your web browser, you can get a free keyboard scrambler as an add-on. If not, there are programs that you can use such as Qx Software, and Key Explorer. As of 2010, these programs range in price from free to $44.95.

Use a firewall and antivirus/anti-spyware software. Prevention is better than cure, and while these programs aren't 100 percent effective and won't protect against hardware keyloggers, they will protect against most remotely installed keyloggers. ZoneAlarm, AVG and Avast are examples of these types of programs, and as of summer 2010, all were free.

A little trick I do is to first type, e.g, the last 4 characters of the password. And then use the mouse to click at the start of the password field (i.e., before the already typed chars), and then type the first 4 characters. That seems to work. So the sequence of keys pressed is a different to your password.
