How to Kill EXE Spyware

How to Kill EXE Spyware thumbnail
Spyware can be an annoying problem for your computer.

Spyware is also known as malware. It is basically a type of harmful software to your computer. Spyware usually comes disguised as an antivirus remover that you have to buy to use. It will repeatedly pop up in your system tray telling you your computer is infected with a bunch of fake names of viruses it makes up. Killing the spyware won't get rid of it, but it will buy you a few minutes peace so you can take other steps to get rid of it.

Instructions

    • 1

Press "CTRL + ALT + Delete" to open up the Windows command prompt.

    • 2

Click on the "Processes" tab and find the name of your spyware application. This displays all the processes running on your computer. Your spyware program will have a name at the top of the window when it pops up to alert you that your computer is falsely infected.

    • 3

Click on the name of your spyware process with the right mouse button when you find it. Select "End Process Tree" from the right-click menu. A warning will appear asking you if you are sure you want to end the process tree. Click on "Yes." This will kill the spyware for a short amount of time until it restarts itself. Use the time to launch your spyware scanner or pursue other options to remove the spyware.
