How to Create Scrapbook Twinchies

Create scrapbook twinchies to embellish your pages.

One of the most difficult and time consuming aspects of scrapbooking is finding embellishments that coordinate with your photos and paper. To alleviate this problem, you can create your own scrapbook twinchies to embellish your pages in no time and give them the coordinating look you desire. Twinchies are a two-inch embellishment, and they are typically square. Twinchies can be made up in advance so that you can take less time later in putting together your pages.

Things You'll Need

• Cardstock
• Rubber Stamps and Ink Pad
• Embossing Machine with Folders
• Adhesive
• Die Cuts
• Pop up adhesive dots

Instructions

1. Cut a piece of cardstock that is a two-inch square. You can do this with a paper trimmer, scissors, or even a die cutting machine such as Slice or Cricut. This will give you the base of your twinchie.

2. Decide on how you want to embellish your twinchie. Choose coordinating paper for layers, die cuts, ribbon, brads, or even stamped images. The ways you can decorate your twinchie are endless, so you can decide what is best for your skill level.

3. Layer cardstock on twinchie to give an elegant look. Borders and layers of cardstock give an embellishment an elegant look. Cut another piece of cardstock in a different color in a 1.75 inch square and adhere it to the 2 inch square. This adds elegance to the basic square.

4. Center a die cut onto your twinchie and adhere it with a pop up dot, adding dimension to your pages with little effort. Die cuts can be made with a machine like Cricut, or can be purchased at your local craft supply store.

5. Embellish your twinchie with a ribbon or even glitter glue. This will give the twinchie an added flare. Use a strong adhesive, such as a tape runner to secure ribbon in place so that it does not shift around.
