How to Start a Powerpoint Slideshow on a Specific Slide

Start a Power Point presentation on a specific slide.

Microsoft PowerPoint is a presentation program used by large corporations, small corporations, in the classroom, and for home use. Power Point is used to create presentations with dazzling effects to create a memorable presentation. If you are showing a PowerPoint presentation that has to be stopped due to an interruption, you do not have to start the whole PowerPoint over. You can start a PowerPoint slide show on a specific slide. There are three ways to start your PowerPoint on a specific slide.

Instructions

Using Edit Mode

1. Open a previous created PowerPoint presentation that was saved on your computer.

2. Start the PowerPoint presentation at the beginning by clicking "Slide Show." To start a PowerPoint presentation on a specific page, scroll down the sides on the right side of the page, and click on the side you want your slide show to start on.

3. Look for the movie screen icon at the bottom left hand corner of the screen. Click on the icon. The show will start from that selected slide. Or you can push the Shift+5 to start from that slide.

Using Slide Show Mode

1. Open a previous created PowerPoint presentation that was saved on your computer.

2. Click on the "Slide Show" tab, and your presentation show will start at the beginning. While your presentation is in show mode, you can start to show from another slide.

3. Click on the slide icon that is in between the left and right arrow at the bottom of the screen.

4. Click "Go to Slide," and click on the slide number to start the presentation. The show will start from that point.

Using the Keyboard

1. Open a previous created Power Point presentation saved on your computer.

2. Click "Slide Show," and your presentation show will start at the beginning.

3. Type the slide number to begin the slide show, and click "Enter." For example, if you want the show to start on slide 25, press "2" and then "5" on the keyboard and press "Enter." The slide you entered will appear on the screen and you can continue the show from there.
