Instructions

    • 1

Disassemble your Rega turntable. To being packaging your Rega turntable, you need to remove the platter, turntable mat, dust cover, cartridge and all of the cords. Separating all of the parts will make it easier to package your turntable because it will keep everything from getting cluttered.

    • 2

Tie up the loose cords with a rubber band. To keep all of the cords from your Rega turntable from getting tangled or lost, tie them up with a rubber band.

    • 3

Tape the platter inside a cardboard sleeve. To keep the platter safe, place it inside a cardboard sleeve and then tape it shut. When taping the cardboard sleeve, make sure the platter does not have the ability to fall out of the sleeve.

    • 4

Put a plastic bag over the cardboard sleeve and the dust cover. To keep the dust cover safe, package it inside a plastic bag snug against the cardboard sleeve containing the plate. Keeping them together and tight inside a plastic bag will keep dirt away from these parts.

    • 5

Remove the counterweight and place it in a piece of styrofoam. Because the counterweight is a very sensitive and important item, you need to keep it as safe as possible. To do so, find a large piece of styrofoam, a little less than the width and length of your turntable base, and cut a hole in it to place your counterweight.

    • 6

Tape the arm down. Most likely, the arm on your turntable has a plastic locking mechanism. When you're traveling though, it is recommended that you do not trust this device. Instead, tape it down with some masking tape to make sure it stays in place.

    • 7

Place the turntable base in a plastic bag. The last item that needs protection is the turntable base. Place the turntable base in a plastic bag to keep it safe from dust particles.

    • 8

Stack everything together and fit it tightly in a box. Now that everything is tightly wrapped and covered in plastic bags, stack the styrofoam with the counterweight on top of the turntable base and then the cardboard sleeve on top of that. Then find two large pieces of styrofoam that you can use to line the edges of the stack and then slide the stack into a box and tape it shut.
