How to Download BitTorent & Burn It to a DVD

BitTorrent is the most popular protocol for file sharing on the Internet. Despite its notoriety for illegal software, BitTorrent is also used for legitimate downloading as well. If you want to distribute the BitTorrent program to friends or have the ability to quickly install the program without downloading it on a lot of computers, you can burn the installer to DVD or CD and install directly from the disc.

Instructions

Download BitTorrent

1. Open your preferred web browser.

2. Go to the BitTorrent.com official website.

3. Click "Free Download" and wait for the download to begin. If it does not automatically start click "here" in the "if your download does not start..." link.

Burning to DVD

1. Insert a blank DVD into your disc burning drive (note that the BitTorrent installer is quite small and can be stored on a CD if you prefer).

2. Click "Burn files to data disc" in the window that pops-up.

3. Type a name such as "BitTorrent" in the blank field, then click "Next."

4. Locate the BitTorrent installer that you downloaded. This will be located in your web browser's default download directory unless you specified otherwise.

5. Click and drag the installer file into the empty data disc window. Click "Burn to disc" to begin burning your installer to disc. Wait for the burn to finish, then the disc will eject. You can now use that disc to install the BitTorrent software on other computers.
