How to Have Perfect Hollywood Eyebrows

A white eyebrow pencil is the secret to achieving that Hollywood look.

No matter the shape of the face, it is the eyes that people are drawn to. Many a romantic fling has been birthed because of someone's sparkling beautiful eyes, so it is important to frame this feature as well as possible. Neatly groomed and shaped eyebrows can make even the dimmest eyes pop and be noticeable. The process is easy, but be careful not to over-groom the brows or make drastic style changes. Changes in the eyebrows should be gradual at first, because a drastic plucking or shaving can only be reversed with time.

• Liquid foundation
• Facial cleanser
• White eyebrow pencil
• Black or brown eyebrow pencil
• Small tweezers or eyebrow-shaping knife
• Eyebrow shaping stencils (optional)
• Eyebrow brush

Shaping Your Eyebrows

1. Decide on the shape of eyebrow you desire. You can consult magazines or websites as to the best eyebrow style for your face shape, or you can simply choose a style that you like.

2. If you are nervous about the style, use your foundation to camouflage your own eyebrows. You won't be able to completely mask them, but you should be able to cover them enough so that from a few feet away from a mirror it will look like you don't have eyebrows. Use the brown or black eyebrow pencil to draw on your chosen style so you can see the effect in your mirror. Now is the time to change styles if you don't like what you are seeing.

3. Wash and dry your face. Then take the white eyebrow pencil and draw the style of eyebrows you want over your eyebrows. Check and double-check for symmetry with both eyebrows. You don't want one high and the other low. If you have eyebrow-shaping stencils, you can trace the style you want with the white eyebrow pencil. You may want a friend to check your white outlines for evenness before you begin the hair-removal process.

4. Take your tweezers or eyebrow-shaping knife, and pluck or shave away the hair on the outside of the white outlines. Do not be over-zealous in your trimming.

5. Wash and dry your face again. Use the eyebrow brush to shape and groom your eyebrows. Examine them for symmetry. If you feel they are not evenly trimmed, or you want to trim off more of your eyebrows, pull out your white pencil and begin again.

6. Once you are satisfied with the trim job, use the brown or black eyebrow pencil to darken the outline of your eyebrows. Be careful to darken the outermost hairline without darkening anywhere you don't have eyebrow hairs. Clean, curved outlines made with the eyebrow pencil will help add shape and depth to your eyebrows to achieve that Hollywood red-carpet look.
