How to Search for a Personal Email Address

You can usually find someone's email address online.

A personal email address is the address a person uses for email between friends and family members. A personal email address usually isn't the one that is associated with work or school, although some people use one email address for every piece of correspondence. There are several ways to find a personal email address, whether or not it is displayed online.

Instructions

1. Type the person's name into a search engine. If his name appears on online sites, go to the sites and read the sentences around his name. Sometimes, an Internet search will yield results like personal home pages, which will display an email address.

2. Find the person on a social networking site. These sites usually have information sections where users are encouraged to put information like their email address. Try several different social networking sites until you've located information about her.

3. Use a people search online, like SearchEngineZ or Yahoo! People (see References). Both of these sites allow you to input a person's name and search for his email address. These work only if a person has used information like his name, address and phone number to set up a personal email account.

4. Call the person on the phone or contact a friend you both have in common. Ask for a personal email address.
