How to Transfer Your Windows Internet Favorites Folder From One Hard Drive to Another
When you bookmark a website, the link is saved in the "Favorites" menu in your Web browser. You can return to the site in the future by selecting the saved link instead of typing in the URL. In Internet Explorer, your favorite sites are stored in a folder on your hard drive. If you've upgraded your computer, save your collection of favorite sites by transferring them to the new hard drive.

Copy the Favorites Folder

Insert the flash drive into an open USB port on your computer. When the Autoplay menu appears, select "Open Folder to View Files."

Click "Start," and select "Computer" from the right side of the Start menu. Double-click the "C:" drive to open it.

Select "Users" and click on your Windows profile name. Right-click the Favorites folder and select "Copy." Open the window containing your flash drive and press "CTRL" and "V" to copy the Favorites folder to your flash drive.
Transferring Favorites to Another Computer

Insert the flash drive in the computer to which you want to copy the Favorites folder. When prompted, select the option to open the flash drive folder and view the files. Right-click the Favorites folder on your flash drive and select "Copy."

Open "My Computer" and click on your "C:" drive. Click "Users" and select your Windows profile.

Press "CTRL" and "V" to paste the Favorites folder into your profile. Confirm that you want to overwrite the existing Favorites folder.

Tips & Warnings
If you simply want to copy your favorites to another hard drive on your computer, select the destination drive from "My Computer" and press "CTRL" and "V" to paste the Favorites Folder onto that hard drive.
