Instructions

    • 1

Carve a sculpture with wax, form a sculpture from polymer clay or otherwise make a sculpture from your choice of material.

    • 2

Make a silicone mold of the sculpture using a two-part cold molding compound. Be sure to mix exactly according to the mold manufacturer's instructions. You may need to make a two-part mold depending on the shape and size of the sculpture.

    • 3

Mix the two-part resin according to the resin manufacturer's instructions. Again, measure exactly and mix carefully.

    • 4

Pour the mixed resin into the mold. Pour slowly to avoid bubbles forming in the resin. Allow the resin to cure.

    • 5

Remove the cured resin sculpture from the mold.

Tips & Warnings

  • Work in a ventilated space when using resin.

  • Do not touch the resin to test if it has cured or you will leave unsightly fingerprints in your resin cast.
