How to Make a Game Wheel
Game wheels can be fun toys to have. They can be used in games you already own, or for games you create. This is a very good item to make for large groups of players, such as at a party or in a classroom setting. The classic game, Wheel of Fortune, is perhaps the most famous game to use a spinning game wheel, and you can quickly and inexpensively make your own wheel to match.

Instructions

1
Cut the 1-inch thick plywood into a circle, 35 inches in diameter.
-
2
Cut the 1-inch plywood into two rectangular pieces, 2 inches wide by 24 inches long.
-
-
3
Cut another rectangle to measure 1 1/2 inches wide by 32 inches long.
-
4
Cut a rectangle from the 2-inch thick wood, 10 inches by 15 inches.
-
5
Screw a hole in the center of the circle and in the center of the 10-by-15 inch rectangle.
-
6
Nail the three long rectangles to the underside of the 10-by-15-inch rectangle, spacing evenly. Make sure the longer rectangle is in the middle.
-
7
Nail a piece of wood, roughly 1 1/2 inches by 4 1/2 inches, at the end of the longest rectangle. Cut a slit in the top and insert a piece of pliable plastic into the slit. This is the flapper that stops the wheel.
-
8
Place a screw through the wood and plastic to hold it in place.
-
9
Place two washers on top of the hole in the large rectangle, then place the wooden wheel on top.
-
10
Place two more washers over the hole in the wheel.
-
11
Push a wood bolt through the washers, wheel and bottom block. It needs to be between 2 and 2 1/2 inches long.
-
12
Divide your wheel into the desired amount of pie slices.
-
13
Drill a hole in each pie slice, a few inches from the edge of the wheel.
-
14
Push a 3 3/8-inch-long dowel into the hole.
-
15
Sand all the wooden parts smooth to prevent hands from getting splinters.
-
16
Paint the pie wedges your desired colors and allow to dry before using.
