How to Find More Peers With Utorrent 1.8

How to Find More Peers With Utorrent 1.8 thumbnail
Getting peers from your hosted torrents will increase your seeding reputation with the Utorrent program.

Utorrent has become a great program to download torrents and other files. The contents of these torrents have drawn debate, so you will want to ensure your internet service provider does not have a problem with downloading and uploading torrents before using Utorrent. If your ISP says it is okay, and you feel like raising your reputation as a seeder, you'll want to increase the number of peers downloading from you. You can't force people to download from you, but there are a few things you can to do make sure you are getting as many seeders as possible.

Instructions

    • 1

Open all of the ports Utorrent uses (see References). This can increase the speed at which you download from the seeders you already have, and it can help peers who may be having trouble connecting to you.

    • 2

Seed a popular torrent. You won't be the only seeder, as you would with a newly released torrent, but you will receive more peers by seeding the most popular torrents.

    • 3

Seed a lot of torrents at once. It may be bad for your peers (it will slow down their download speed), but it is often the fastest way to up your seeding reputation, because of the numerous peers you will have downloading from you at one time.
