How to Make Christmas Trees out of Hand Prints
Hand-print Christmas trees make an adorable decoration for the holidays. Involve an entire class or a few bored kids for an afternoon of Christmas crafting. You'll need lots of hand prints, so gather as many kids as you can. These hand-print Christmas tree decorations can spruce up a front door or a mantle. Let each kid put her name or a Christmas wish on her hand prints to make them a little more personal.

1
Have each child place his hand on the green construction paper. Using a pencil, trace the hand and cut it out. Fold the hand slightly at the wrist to curl it up a bit. These hands will be the basis of your tree, so make a lot, depending on how big you want your tree to be. An average-sized tree will need about 20 hand prints.
-
2
Draw a large triangle on a piece of brown construction paper to form a tree template. Cut a tree trunk out of construction paper and glue it under the triangle.
-
-
3
Start gluing the hand prints to the tree. Glue them so the fingers curl out slightly like branches.
-
4
Glue from bottom to top in rows, making the hands overlap slightly, until you come to the top. One hand print will be the top of the tree.
-
5
Cut a piece of yellow construction paper into a star shape and glue it to the top of the tree.
-
6
Decorate the tree with glitter glue "ornaments."
