How to Customize a MySpace Band Music Profile
MySpace is used by a number of musicians to promote music. To help promote your band on MySpace, you should customize your MySpace profile. To customize a profile, you can select from the available layouts and themes in MySpace, add your own background image, which could be a picture of your band or logo, create your own customized theme with CSS or copy a CSS layout available for download online and lastly, upload your own music to share with fans.

Change Themes and Layouts

Log in to your MySpace musician account.

Click on "Profile" and select "Customize Profile."

Choose "Appearance" in the left pane.

Pick a theme. Click on "Select Theme" in the middle pane. Choose one of the available themes from the right pane. Your MySpace profile will automatically change to that theme. Click "Publish" if you wish to make no further changes.

Change the profile layout. Click on "Change Layout" in the middle pane below "Change Themes." Select the layout you prefer for your band profile from the available layouts in the right pane. Click on "Publish" to save all changes.

Add a customized background. Click "Advanced Edit" below "Change Layout" in the middle pane. Click "Publish" to save all changes.
Add a Custom Background

Upload the image or graphic that you want to use as the MySpace background to an image hosting website such as Flickr, Photobucket or ImageShack. You can also upload images to be used as module headers and module bodies. Once uploaded, select the image and copy the URL of that particular image.

Log in to MySpace and select "Profile" and "Customize Profile."

Select "Appearance" from the left pane. Click "Advanced Edit" from the middle pane.

Click on "Background" in the third pane and enter the URL of the background image in the URL field in the right pane. Beside the URL field, select whether to have the background scroll with the page by selecting "Yes" or "No" from the "Scroll with page" menu. Select the "Position" of the background image. Choose whether to repeat the background image in case it doesn't file the screen. Hit "Publish" to save all changes.

Hit "Module Header" or "Module Bodies" under "Background" in the third pane. Repeat the process for adding the image URL in the designated field. In addition, you can select the text type and size to customize text entered into the modules. Click "Publish" to save changes.
Add Your Own CSS Code

Copy the CSS code. The CSS code may be one you created or one you copied from a website that offers MySpace layouts such as Pyzam, RevolutionMySpace or MySpaceLayouts. To copy the code, select the entire code by highlighting it with the mouse, right-clicking and selecting "Copy" from the drop-down menu.

Log in to MySpace and select "Profile." Select "Customize Profile."

Select "Appearance" in the left pane.

Click on "CSS" in the middle pane.

Right-click inside the CSS field in the right pane. Select "Paste" from the drop-down menu. Select "Publish" to save the settings.
Add Music

Log in to MySpace and click on "Profile." Select "Edit Profile."

Choose "Manage Featured Songs" from the menu.

Click on "Add a song" from either the top right or bottom right of the page.

Add song details in the appropriate fields.

Click "Upload" and select up to 10 MP3 audio files saved on your computer in the browser box.
