How to Send a WMV File

Considering that WMV files are essentially digital videos, they are typically larger than other types of media. Unlike audio or image files, WMV files cannot be easily attached to emails because of their substantial file size. But users can take advantage of various file delivery services to transmit WMV files. Websites like YouSendIt, MEGAUPLOAD and Sendspace will prepare WMV files for download and send messages to recipients when the video becomes available.

YouSentIt

1. Open an Internet browser and contact the YouSentIt website. The service's main homepage will display a "Send a File" section for preparing the file delivery.

2. Type your email address in the "From:" field, and type the recipient's email address in the "To:" field.

3. Hit the "Select File" button. Search for the WMV file in the file selection pop-up window. Select the video and hit the "Open" button to submit it to the application.

4. Hit the "Send It" button to upload the WMV file to the YouSendIt service. The page will display a confirmation message when the WMV file has been prepared for download and the recipient has been sent a notification email.

MEGAUPLOAD

1. Open an Internet browser and contact the MEGAUPLOAD website.

2. Hit the "Browse" button on the service's homepage. Search for the WMV file in the file selection pop-up window. Select the video and hit the "Open" button to submit it to the application.

3. Add information to the file description field and hit the "Send" button to upload the WMV file to the MEGAUPLOAD service. A page displaying upload progress will automatically load in the browser. When the WMV file has been successfully uploaded, MEGAUPLOAD will display a link to download the file from the service.

4. Copy and paste the download link in an email and send it to a recipient to retrieve the WMV file.

2. Hit the "Browse" button next to the "Select File" field. Search for the WMV file in the file selection pop-up window. Select the video and hit the "Open" button to submit it to the application.

3. Enter the contact information in the "Recipient's email" and the "Your email" fields.

4. Hit the "Upload File" button to upload the WMV file to the Sendspace service. A confirmation page will automatically load in the browser when the WMV file has been prepared for download. Notification emails will be sent to both you and the recipient.

Tips & Warnings

• Files under 100 megabytes can be uploaded to YouSendIt for free, while files under 200MB can be uploaded to MEGAUPLOAD at no cost. Sendspace only charges premium fees for file uploads over 300MB.
