How to Get Wii Ware
Wii Ware is Nintendo games that are digitally distributed through the Wii's Shopping channel. Many of the Wii Ware games are versions of older games "ported" over to the Wii system format. For example, games from older systems such as Super Nintendo and even competitors such as the Sega Genesis are ported over to a digital format that allows them to be played on the Wii system. Developers can also make new games exclusively as Wii Ware. Wii Points are used to purchase the games.

Purchase "Wii Points cards" at video game retailers or purchase them directly online through the Wii. Turn on the Wii and on the home screen navigate to the "Wii Shop Channel." Click on "Add Wii Points" and either select "From card" or "Purchase." Follow the on screen prompts to redeem the Wii Points.

Go back into the main "Wii Shop Channel" screen and search for "Wii Ware." Under the "Wii Ware" menu use the on screen keyboard and search box to browse games by name, type, and number of points. You can also search by newest releases and name of game publisher.

Select the game you want to download and click on the "Download" link next to the game. Wait for the game to download to your Wii.

Go back to the Home screen on the Wii and locate your Wii Ware game which is listed as a new channel on screen. You can use the directional pad or the on screen arrows to navigate through the pages of channels and games.
