Notepad is convenient for writing and saving HTML and other Web files.

Notepad is a simple word processing program that doubles as a convenient platform on which to build websites. Notepad files can be saved and uploaded to the Internet as they are. Fortunately for website designers and builders, making a website with Notepad is a relatively simple task.

Instructions

    • 1

Open up Notepad. All Windows operating systems include Notepad.

    • 2

Enter your HTML code into the Notepad document. If you are using any other code, whether its PHP or Javascript, this should be entered into the document as well.

    • 3

Save the Notepad document. It should save as a .txt document by default. When you save the file, change the file ending, replacing ".txt" with the file type--for example, ".html," ".shtml" or ".css."

    • 4

Repeat steps 2 and 3 with all other files you plan to use for your website.

    • 5

Log on to your Web hosting file directory on a Web browser or log on to your FTP connection.

    • 6

Upload the Notebook files to your website's server. Create new folders as necessary.
