How to Create a Map for Invitations or Business Cards
Supplying a map to your destination on invitations or business cards removes a barrier for people that you would like to see later. Also, it may help to motivate people to visit you later, because it'll be easier for them to find where you are. Here I'll discuss how to insert a map into an invitation created on Microsoft Word.
Things You'll Need
- Word-processing program
- Invitation or business-card template
- Mapping software

1
Select a mapping software. There are both desktop and online programs available. Inspect them and consider which software would provide the best access for those people receiving your invitation or business card. Online programs, such as Mapquest, Google Maps and MSN Mapblast, provide the easiest access to a wide range of people because you can send the map to them electronically.

2
Enter your address into the web page's search function to get a map displaying your destination's address and its surrounding streets. Make sure the correct address is displayed and that you recognize surrounding street names.

3
Copy the map by selecting it with your mouse and then pressing the keys "CTRL" and "C" on your keyboard. If that doesn't work, then try right-clicking on the map and saving the file to your computer.

4
Paste the map onto the electronic template of your invitation or business card by concurrently pressing the keys "CTRL" and "V" on your keyboard in an optimal location. Or, if you've saved the map to your computer, then you can either drag it into your template or import it using the "Insert" menu in Microsoft Word.

5
Re-size the map to fit the layout of your template. Make sure the map is readable. Also, correctly position the map with the text already situated on the template by manipulating its wrapping style. You can access this command by formatting the picture and changing its layout.
