How to Check for Updates for the Windows Live Toolbar

Windows Live Toolbar helps users find better search results while protecting them against phishing scams and viruses. The free toolbar also offers instant speed when finding documents on the computer, integrates a toolbar with all applications and guards users from annoying pop-ups. Finding updates, however, can sometimes be a hassle for users. During the installation process, the program doesn't always turn the automatic updater on, so users are left with older and slower versions of the toolbar.

Instructions

1. Click the "Start" menu.

2. Click "All Programs."

3. Click "Windows Update" or "Microsoft Update." Find the one that was installed on the computer.

4. Click "Custom."

5. Find "Windows Live Toolbar" and uncheck the "Don't show this update again" box. Click "Review and Install Updates."
