How to Create a Gift Basket for a Baby Boomer (Female)

Baby boomer women are now middle-aged, but they look and act much younger than middle-aged women of the past. You can easily create a gift basket for a boomer woman by choosing a variety of items related to her midlife interests.

Choosing the Gifts and Basket

1. Consider jogging or power walking accessories for a physically active boomer woman: headbands, reflectors for shoes and wrists, a tape player with waistband attachment, motivational books on tape, an electronic pedometer, a visor, sunscreen.

2. Consider the following for any boomer woman: books and magazines on women's health issues; a variety of herbal teas; skin care lotions for maturing skin; gentle hair care products with herbal scents; skin care accessories, such as sponges, brushes and loofahs; humorous coffee mugs; Beatles CDs, for the memories.

3. Pick a basket style. Your choices include those with one handle, with two side handles, or without handles. Make certain the basket is large enough to hold the gifts you have selected.

4. Decide on the color of the basket by choosing one that complements the woman's home decor. If in doubt, choose a neutral color by selecting a natural wicker basket.

5. Use shredded paper filling to make the gifts fit snugly in the basket.

6. Buy a humorous greeting card about middle age.

Packing the Basket

7. Wrap each present with colorful gift wrap.

8. Put a layer of shredded paper filling on the bottom of the basket.

9. Place the wrapped gifts vertically or horizontally in the basket, as space allows, pushing the filling between gifts to ensure a very snug fit. Cover some of the gifts completely with the filling to create mini surprises when the basket is unpacked.

10. Place the basket in the center of a large piece of clear or tinted cellophane gift wrap. You may need two pieces of the wrap to completely cover a large basket.

11. Bring all sides of the wrap to a few inches above the top of the basket. Secure the wrap by tying it with a long, colorful ribbon.

12. Tape your greeting card onto the wrap.

on 8/8/2006 I like to give Sense Skin Care products in a basket. Facial Care Packs; I find a nice basket that will look pretty by the sink. I line the basket with a colorful facial cloth and arrange the products nicely. I add a magnifying mirror, a bound journal, and a head band. I wrap in a heat treated, shrink wrapped, package and place a colorful bow on the outside.

Shower Packs

I find a fun pail or container, to house Sense Shower Gel, Shampoo, Conditioner and nourishing body lotion. I line the pail with a colorful wash cloth and then nicely arrange the products in the container. Add a pumice stone, a great razor and a shower puff to complete this fun gift. I wrap in a heat treated shrink wrapped package and place a colorful bow on the outside.
