How to Download YouTube Videos Into AVIs

YouTube videos, encoded in the Flash format, can be converted into other formats.

Users of the popular video-sharing website YouTube routinely post video clips containing various video and audio files. Currently, YouTube does not provide its users a way to download and save these clips onto their hard drives. However, various third-party websites allow these users to download clips in several formats, including the Audio Video Interleave ("AVI") format, created by Microsoft in 1992.



YouTube videos are uploaded and covered into Flash video. These clips carry the ".flv" format suffix. Several websites convert Flash video into various other video fromats, including MPG, WMG and AVI.

Instructions

Downloading YouTube Videos in the AVI Format Using FLVTo

1. Browse to FLVTo's website (see "Resources").

2. Copy the url of the desired video clip into memory by selecting the address, right clicking and selecting "copy." Paste the url into the converter's text box. Click the checkbox next to "I accept the terms of service" after reading them.

3. Click "next" to move to step two. Select the AVI format under "Media format."

4. Click download after the file has been converted.

Downloading YouTube videos in the AVI format using Bender Converter

1. Copy the url of the desired video clip into memory by selecting the address.

2. Browse to Vixy's website (see "Resources").

3. Paste the video's original URL into the converter. Select the AVI format and click convert.

4. Click download and save the file to your computer.

1. Copy the url of the desired video clip into memory by selecting the address.

3. Click "enter a link." Paste the video's original URL into the converter, and click "OK."

4. Click "go to the next step" and select the AVI format. Click "OK," and then "start" to convert the video.

5. Download the video by clicking "download." Save the file on your computer.
