How to Connect a PC to a Sony KDL

A VGA input connects your PC to your Sony KDL.

KDL is the series designation number for a long line of liquid crystal display (LCD) televisions from Sony. There are more than 100 LCD televisions in this series, ranging in size from 19 inches to 70 inches. It is Sony's most popular line of televisions and encompasses everything from budget-friendly LCDs to top-of-the-line models. It's easy to connect these TVs to a PC and use the TV as a computer monitor.

Things You'll Need

• VGA cable
• 3.5mm audio cable

Instructions

1. Plug in one end of the VGA cable to the output port on the back of your PC. This is the same slot that you use to connect the computer to a regular computer monitor.

2. Connect the other end of the VGA cable to the "PC IN" or "VGA" input on the back of your TV.

3. Insert the 3.5mm audio cable into the "Headphones Output" or "Audio Output" jack on your computer.

4. Connect the other end of the 3.5mm audio cable to the "Audio In" slot next to the "VGA" slot on the back of your TV.

5. Turn your TV on and set the input to "Computer." This will allow you to use your Sony KDL TV as a computer monitor.
